We start with the humility of a ‘beginner’s mindset’ and the confidence in ourselves as learners.

My background carries extensive experience in adults with trauma, phobias, depression, and anxiety. It does include the realm of performance psychology, working with athletes, musicians, and public speakers. With a teaching and research background in this field and in the elusive feeling of ‘flow’, I work beyond traditional medical models and symptomology. I work to identify each client’s strengths to locate a learning style that aims to understand the nature of the wound first, then move through it with comfort and safety at our side.

My individualized approach is based on emotional recognition, storytelling, embodiment, and strengths/values. I often draw from a variety of expressive therapies such as music, art, film, movement, or books to channel the best form of communication in a relationship. Narratives within these realms can often guide organization and understanding of different types of behavior. Afterall, the stories we tell hold our connection to ourselves, our identity, and our culture.

Above all, in my off-time, I’m a dad. I enjoy the moments where I can be present with family. I’m grateful to witness moments of growth and learning from those who continue to be open to a life of learning. For those with which I work, I remain appreciative for their bringing me along for the ride.
